I was one of these little girls who was dreaming of working in a horse stable to learn about horses and everything that entails – this dream at the time did not come to fruition.
Following my passion of supporting people, I completed a Bachelor of Education in Germany and was working as a schoolteacher. From my 30ties onwards, I expanded into studying massage and other bodywork modalities which added a clearer understanding of human movements and their possible physical and emotional disturbances to my professional expertise.
Later in Australia, I qualified as an AUSTWIM instructor, teaching for 15 years in our privately owned swim school in the Byron Hinterland. Eventually I completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, working as an educator in my own day-care facility since many years. By now, I am looking back at 40 years of working with people of all age groups in various capacities and absolutely loving it.
My background with horses
In my more than 20 years of experience with horses in the Northern Rivers, the focus has been classical dressage supported by local and overseas trainers as well as my personal love for trail riding out in the rolling hills and forests of the Northern Rivers. This turned out to be a great combination of disciplines to build solid, responsive relationships with your horses, leading to a sensitive two-way communication with the equine companion.
Some years back I transitioned to bit-less riding (no metal bit in the horses mouth) which was an important step to take the relationship with horses to another level of listening to each other and trusting the connection. It opened up a whole other dimension of moving in harmony with the horse.
Now offering AEFL qualified Equine Facilitated Learning sessions, I am drawing from an excellent training model as well as all my previous studies and experiences of working with people and horses.
